The EAs I actually run
Most "best expert advisor" lists rank by commission. This one is just the EAs I've tested on live accounts and kept running, which is a lower bar than "best" but an honest one. Each entry says what it is and why it's on my accounts, with a link to a full write-up covering settings, weaknesses and who it suits.
Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you buy through one I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change what I write, and I only list EAs I run myself. If you'd rather not use my link, go straight to the developer's own website instead — the product and the price are the same either way.
Apex EA — Nomad Trader
The one I've run longest, and the closest to how I'd build something myself. It holds one position at a time on H1, with a defined stop, and it doesn't average into losing trades. I run it on five majors and crosses, having taken gold and USDCHF off it after those two turned out to be where all my losses were coming from. I cap it at three concurrent positions and keep risk at 1% per trade, dropping to 0.75% on NZDUSD, which has been the weakest pair for me and for the developer. Straightforward, readable, and it behaves the way it says it does.

Gold Reaper — Wim Schrynemakers
The gold system on my accounts, running XAUUSD on H1 in its conservative mode with a limited set of its internal strategies enabled. Gold is a different problem from FX — wider spreads, sharper moves — so this one gets more account headroom than anything else I run. It's tail-dependent by design: a small number of trades produce most of the result, which means you have to leave it alone through flat stretches rather than interfering. If you can't do that, it isn't the system for you.

DayTrade Pro — Wim Schrynemakers
Daily support and resistance price action across nine pairs from a single chart setup, so it's low-maintenance once configured. I removed a couple of pairs that weren't earning their place. It trades infrequently compared with the others, which suits me — it isn't trying to be busy. The internal drawdown control does the sizing work, so most of the setup effort goes into deciding which pairs to leave switched on.

Luna AI — Wim Schrynemakers
An M5 night scalper working the Asian session on AUD crosses. This is the most aggressive thing on this page and I'd want to be clear about that: it has no account-level drawdown cap of its own, so whatever limit you want has to come from you. I run it with correlated trades capped at two and I don't use AUDUSD, which has been consistently negative for me despite appearing in the default setup. Useful because it trades when nothing else I run is active, but it needs watching rather than trusting.
